Born in 1980. She’s from Napoli, raised at a few steps from Porta Capuana.

In 2004 Marianna graduated summa cum laude in Spanish language and literature with a thesis on the myth of “The Feast with the Statue”.
Voted religiously to the cult of food, in May 2009 she has started up Sud Ristorante with Pino Esposito in Quarto Flegreo, in the province of Napoli.

Cooking at your own restaurant is hard work, perseverance, constant bet, and this fact is more true when you choose to start an oasis up in the desert, but with unpredictable speed Sud has become an important fact of gourmet Italian scenario: by 2010, Marianna Vitale and Sud Ristorante score the assignment of many national awards and recognitions.

In 2011 Marianna is the best emerging chef for Il Sole 24 Ore

Since 2012 Sud Ristorante is awarded with one Michelin star.

Marianna is awarded as the best italian female chef for guides to restaurants of L’Espresso and Identità Golose for the year 2015. At the same time her impepata is the dish of the year for Il Mattino.

In 2017 Marianna receives the Identità Donna award by Identità Golose.

Marianna gets awarded as one of the women of the year for the Lydia Cottone “Napoli è donna” award 2018.

Sud Ristorante is the best italian restaurant for Pasta proposal according to Gambero Rosso 2020 guides.

Marianna is Female Chef of 2020 for the Michelin Guides.
